The Software Alliance Gets 3 new Members


The Software Alliance, a trade group established by Microsoft Corporation on Wednesday announced the addition of three new members, namely Box, Informatica, and Okta.

As BSA members, these companies will contribute to dynamic global policy discussions, helping policymakers and the general public harness the opportunities that the software industry creates.

“We’re pleased to welcome these highly innovative companies to BSA,” said President and CEO of BSA | The Software Alliance, Victoria Espinel.

“Every sector of the economy relies on software to succeed. Box, Informatica, and Okta will join BSA’s advocacy efforts before governments around the world to develop policies that encourage innovation and economic growth,” Espinel added.

Box is a leader in cloud content management, empowering enterprises to revolutionize how they work by securely connecting their people, information and applications.

Founded in 2005, Box today powers 80,000 businesses globally, including AstraZeneca, General Electric, P&G, and The GAP.

Peter McGoff, Box’s SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary will join BSA’s Board of Directors.

Informatica is the only enterprise cloud data management leader that accelerates data-driven digital transformation.

Informatica enables companies to use data for fuel innovation, to become more agile, and identify new growth opportunities, resulting in intelligent market disruptions.

Brad Lewis, Informatica’s SVP and Chief Legal Officer will join BSA’s Board of Directors.

Okta is the leading independent provider of identity for the enterprise. The Okta Identity Cloud connects and protects employees of many of the world’s largest enterprises.

It also connects enterprises to their partners, suppliers and customers.

Jon Runyan, Okta’s General Counsel will join BSA’s Board of Directors.
