Bhopal:

The underutilisation of funds allocated for education in tribal schools was found to be the reason behind poor pass percentage in tribal schools of Madhya Pradesh by the CAG. CAG report states that Madhya Pradesh Tribal Welfare Residential and Ashram Educational Society has furnished fictitious utilisation certificate and has not used 113 crores out of 282 crores granted to it. The quality of education was further affected due to non-availability of teachers. The reasons for non-recruitment of teachers by Vyapam is not evident. The infrastructure of schools and hostels were also found to be inadequate by the CAG. The CAG also found that strength of these hostels were increased without a proportional increase in infrastructure.
