West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Monday lashed out on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he should be thrown out of power and politics and his mouth should be sealed with surgical adhesive tape. She raised the slogan “Chowkidar lootera hai” and criticized Modi for doing nothing for the country except “conducting riots” and looting the public money.
“Modi did not have time to look after the farmers and the middle-class, as he was busy touring the globe for 4.5 years of his five-year term,” She said in a campaign rally held in West Bengal. “When elections are knocking at the door, Modi is threatening everybody and blabbering lies,” Banerjee alleged, mocking the Prime Minister that he would win the first prize if there was a competition of telling lies.
Modi had made a comment at a public meet at Cooch Behar district in West Bengal on last Sunday, saying that Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress are suffering from fear psychosis of Modi. Hitting back at him, she warned him “not to dare to threaten her” as it will be his “biggest mistake”.
She also said, “During the 5 years, he has been touring the globe for 4.5 years. What was he doing when farmers were committing suicides across the country? What was he doing when people died due to demonetization and crores of people lost their jobs?”
She also brought in the subject of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) manifesto released on Sunday, which has promised to bring the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and driving out infiltrators, Banerjee cautioned that if Modi is re-elected, he will turn “legal citizens into refugees”.
“If you vote for them [BJP], they will turn you all into refugees in your own country. We will never allow NRC and the Citizenship Bill in our state,” Banerjee said.
