Memes of BJP leaders with a funky hairstyle are now getting viral on social media. As Jawed Habib, a celebrity hairstylist and salon magnate join the party, PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath and Devendra Fadnavis are getting trendy makeovers on social media. It was on Monday, Jawed, whose company operates 846 hair and beauty salons 110 cities across India, joined BJP. Keeping up with the ruling party’s slogan declaring “Main Bhi Chowkidar” or I Too Am a Watchman, Habib said, “Until today, I was the watchman of hair, but now I have become, a watchman of the nation.”

He was welcomed in the BJP by party’s national secretary Tarun Chugh and national media co-in charge Sanjay Mayukh.
Welcoming Habib in the party, Mayukh said he has joined the party inspired by the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“I am happy to join the BJP as I have seen the changes brought in the country by Prime Minister Modi in the last five years. I think nobody should be ashamed of their background. When the Prime Minister is proud to state that he was a ‘chaiwala’ then why should I be ashamed of calling myself a barber ?,” Jawed said.

Soon after Jawed Habib was introduced to the party, tweets and memes were exploded making fun out of BJP leaders with different hairstyles. When Modi and Yogi got spiky hair, Amit Shah was with a dark blue hair cut. Among all the memes and edited photos, the most popular has been the one of PM Modi with Amit Shah sitting on a stage looking to different directions. But, none from Bharatiya Janata Party has officially responded to this.

However, Jawed Habib is a renowned name among hairdressers globally, has over 550 unisex hair salons across India with three international ones. His grandfather Nazir Ahmed was the personal barber for India’s last Viceroy, Lord Mountbatten, and the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru.
