Telugu Desam Party chief Chandra Babu Naidu hailed Mamata Banerjee as Bengal Tigress and said that Mamata will play a key role in the formation of government post-election. Naidu also added that Modi was fighting a lost battle. He was attending an election rally along with Mamata at Kharagpur.
He also accused Modi of victimising Trinamool Congress and Mamata Banerjee. He noted Modi visited Bengal 16 times for election campaigns and asked, ” “How many times have you [Modi] come to West Bengal for development work?”
“We want to save democracy, protect our nation and save our democratic institutions,” he added.
Naidu also praised Mamata for bringing opposition parties together to fight BJP.
“Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal is very important because, under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, the country will get a new prime minister. She is organising everybody and is going to play a vital role in forming the new government at the Centre,” he said.
While Ms Banerjee had campaigned for the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh, Mr Naidu returned the favour and held rallies for two consecutive days in south Bengal.
