Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President M.K. Stalin on Tuesday criticised Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party chief Tamilisai Soundararajan’s claim that the DMK is holding talks with the saffron party, and dared her or Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prove this allegation. He also said he will quit politics if the claims are proved.
“If Tamil Nadu BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan and PM Modi prove that I was in contact with the BJP to form an alliance with them, I’ll quit politics. If they fail to prove, will she and Modi quit politics? I condemn the statement made by BJP state president Tamilisai,” Stalin said.
The DMK chief further said that the BJP couldn’t tolerate his campaign against them and that is the reason, they have stooped to this level. “It is the DMK which proposed Rahul Gandhi’s name for PM candidature first, and it is me who has called PM Modi sadist, fascist and dictator,” he said.
It was while addressing reporters in Tuticorin, Tamilisai Soundararajan caught saying, “It is true, on the one side it is Rahul Gandhi, on the other it is KCR and then Modi. Everyone knows that the DMK changes colors. They are speaking via someone, they are establishing a connection with us”.
For Lok Sabha election 2019, DMK is in an alliance with the Congress and Left parties. The Congress is contesting in 10 seats across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
