Congress president Rahul Gandhi visits Kerala’s Wayanad today, on a three-day trip, to thank his constituency Wayanad for electing him to the Parliament. This is Rahul’s first visit to the constituency after the Lok Sabha elections.
Rahul will land at Calicut International Aiport at Karipur by a special flight at 1.30 pm on Friday. He will be received by senior UDF leaders. The Congress president will be accorded a warm reception at Kalikkavu, Nilambur, Edavanna and Areekode. Rahul would be accorded receptions at select places in the Wayanad constituency. Senior leaders, MPs and MLAs would attend these meetings.
“I will be in Wayanad, Kerala starting this afternoon and till Sunday to meet citizens and Congress Party workers. It’s a packed schedule with over 15 public receptions planned over the next three days,” Rahul tweeted before leaving for the state.
Rahul Gandhi had won Wayanad with a margin of 4.31 lakh votes. But, he had to concede defeat to BJP’s Smriti Irani in his traditional stronghold seat of Amethi.
