Rahul Gandhi who had not shifted from his decision to step down as party chief on Thursday said, he won’t be involved in the process of selecting the next Congress president.
“I won’t decide who will be the next Congress president,” he said.
Rahul was asked by a group of journalists while coming out of the Congress Parliamentary Party Office if he would nominate Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for the party chief post.
To which Mr Gandhi replied,” “Who am I appoint? The call on who will be the party president will be that of the party’s and not mine.”
He also talked about the Rafael deal and stood firm in his earlier position. “My stand on Rafale is the same. There has been corruption,” he said in response to journalists’ queries on the reference to the Rafale aircraft in President Ram Nath Kovind’s address to the joint sitting of Parliament
