Dengue fever which was being reported in Ernakulam for past one month, is now under control, informed the officials. It was reported that around 34 people were suffering from dengue fever. The health department was successful in preventing the spread of the disease further said Dr Sreedevi, Additional District Medical Officer to The Woke Journal.

Dengue was reported in areas including Angamali, Kuttambuzha and Manjallur.

“We are in an attempt to find out the source of the disease so that we can try and stop it from spreading further. District Vector Control unit, Primary Health Centres, are doing an excellent job in dengue-affected areas. They have initiated prevention methods such as fogging. Well-planned prevention method helped in the control of the disease,” she added.

However, on a positive note, the no.of dengue affected is less compared to previous years, she said.
