Four people including a cop were killed and several others were injured in an attack by the state and Hindutva goons in Delhi on Monday. Police had imposed prohibitory orders and declared 144 at ten locations in Delhi.
It was BJP leader Kapil Mishra who had incited the mob yesterday at Maujpur to turn violent at the anti-CAA protesters. He had visited the area yesterday and had issued a call through Twitter urging people to gather and “prevent another Shaheen Bagh” protest from taking place near the Jaffrabad Metro Station.
What happened in Maujpur on Sunday?
What happened in Delhi today is said to be a continuation of the tense situation in Maujpur on Sunday. BJP leader Kapil Mishra had gathered pro-CAA supporters near the Maujpur-Babarpur Metro Station which is nearly two kilometers from the Jaffrabad anti-CAA protest site.
The Hindu mob unleashed violence at Jaffrabad and Maujapur area immediately after the meeting with Mishra was dispersed.
Mishra had tweeted, ” We have given a three-day ultimatum to the Delhi Police to get the road cleared. Get the Jafrabad and Chandbagh road cleared”
Videos released from Maujpur shows the attackers targeting Muslim households. Police had resorted to tear-gas shells and lathi charges to bring the situation under control suggests reports.

Strict action against miscreants, says Delhi Police
Delhi Police meanwhile said that strict action would be taken against the miscreants who are responsible for the violence that erupted in the North-East districts of Delhi on Monday.
“Delhi Police is making every effort to restore normalcy. Section 144 has been imposed in the affected areas of North-east district and strict action will be taken against miscreants and anti-social elements,” said Delhi Police.
Congress blamed the central government for its failure to bring the situation under control.
“Delhi Police, under Union home ministry, has completely failed to control law and order. BJP leaders have been openly giving hate speeches and threats but no action is being taken,” it said in a statement.
