Three Border Security Force (BSF) men were injured after militants attacked their vehicle at Pantha Chowk, Srinagar on Monday evening. This is the third major attack in a week. Earlier, militants had attacked the army camp at Tral, in which two troops were killed and the CISF camp in Nowgam Srinagar, in which one officer was killed.
As per police statement, three BSF men were injured after their vehicle bearing number WB-739998 was attacked near Zewan crossing at Pantha Chowk (Srinagar) in the evening. The condition of all the injured officers is stable as of now. After the attack, the police, CRPF and other counter-insurgency forces launched a search operation in the area to track down the militants. However, no arrests were reported.
Meanwhile, Pakistan sponsored terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba has taken the responsibility of the attack. According to the spokesman of the outfit, Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi, “After the attack, militants escaped from the site and reached their safe destination,” he said.
